Product Name: Lab Slot Die Coating Machine


TMAX-PD100 slot die coating machine is an equipment applied to the surface coating of sheet substrates, which is coated by slit extrusion. The equipment mainly consists of extrusion die, coating platform, material supply system and control system, mainly applied to laboratory research and development, and can work in glove box. This equipment is mainly used for surface coating of sheet substrates in the fields of lithium battery substrates, OLED, solar photovoltaic films and polymer conductive films.


Features:

1. Adopt slot type coating process, with high coating precision, good consistency and wide coating window.

2. Syringe pump feeding, closed feeding system, no external interference, less coating demand and waste. Syringe model can be changed according to demand.

3. Coating substrate is vacuum suction board with built-in vacuum pump.

Power

· UL /CSA certified power supply (110~ 240VAC - 24VDC) is separated from the coating unit

· The coating unit has 24VDC input and is driven by a 24VDC motor, which can be used under the Ar atmosphere glovebox to avoid arcing and short circuit.

Slot Die Head

· 100 mm width slot die head with 6 pecs shims with thickness 0.08, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 mm included

· Minimum coating thickness: 5 microns (depending on slurry viscosity)

· Tube connection: M6 connector with 3mm OD tube from the middle of the head.

Syringe Pump

· Built-in syringe pump with a variable speed in the range from 0.05 to 5.0 mm/s

· Touch screen panel for setting up the parameters

· One 20mL stainless steel syringe with a plastic plunger is included. 

· A O.D. 3.2 mm PTFE tubing and its connection accessories are included. 

· The syringe is included with the "Slot Die Coating" and "Combination" Options.

· We have changed the syringe fixture part since May, 2024, so regular plastic syringes are included instead of stainless steel ones.  

Gap Control

· Two micrometer heads are built in the travel rod of the coater to adjust the gap between the slot die and the substrate

· Two digital drop indicators are provided to move with the slot die.

· The Micrometers are included in the "Slot Die Coating" and "Combination" Options.

· The flatness resolution of the vacuum chunk plate is around 5-10 um.

Heated Vacuum Chuck

· Vacuum chuck made of aluminum alloy with small holes

Application Note

· Coating thickness is not dependent on or equal to the gap between the slot die head and substrate. 

· Usually, the gap shall be larger than the coating thickness. Coated thickness is strongly dependent on slurry viscosity, coating speed, and flow speed. ( Lower viscosity, low flow rate, and low speed will result in a thinner film. Please practice finding the best parameters which suitable for you

· Example 5% carbon+ polymer, viscosity: 500mPa·s, substrate: Al foil of 16 um,

Gap: 200 um, Slurry feeding rate:: 0.1 ml/minute , Coating speed: 12mm/s

Dry-coated film thickness: 5 um +/- 1 um
